Recent reports suggest that autism affects 1:100 people. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental disorder that essentially affects the way a person communicates to people and relates to the environment. It affects children/adults on varying degress of severity, which is why it is called a spectrum disorder. Often children/adults with autism will experience a range of additional difficulties in everyday life that may appear inappropriate to others. Some of these difficulties are manifested in behaviours such as limited attention, anger/aggression, poor organisational skills, sleeping and eating difficulties, and clumsiness as well as other issues. As a Behaviour Analyst, I will support clients and families help replace these challenging behaviours with appropriate meaningful and functional behaviours.

Although Autism is a lifelong condition research has found that early intervention as young as two years old can have an impact on how the child is able to develop; however services can make a difference at various stages in development including further enhancing life skills in adulthood. Families are often provided with little information, resources and support on how to manage the complexities that are involved when living with autism.

As an Accredited Behaviour Analyst and Psychotherapist with extensive training and experience in Autism, I am able to provide the following support at varying levels of intensity based on the individuals needs. All of the therapeutic practices I can deliver are founded on evidence based practice and are up to date with the professional literature.
