Ethical Practice
Responsibility to Clients

As an accredited Psychotherapist/Counsellor and Behaviour Analyst, I abide by the Code of Ethics of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB) at all times.

All information will be treated confidentially.

Therapy will be offered regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability or age.

Counselling takes place within codes of practice where certain situations (e.g. serious harm to self or others, child abuse, and disclosure of criminal acts) may need to be disclosed with others. Although this normally follows discussion and permission of the client, I am legally bound to report such issues without permission.

Clients have the right to be treated with respect at all times and in ways which meet their particular needs.

Clients are encouraged to take part in planning their own therapy and especially in the setting of aims, objectives, costs and ending. All those coming for initial interviews will be given a clear explanation of any therapy proposed, including any risks or alternatives, before they decide whether to go ahead with the therapy. Please review the following links above for further information on my ethical responsibilities.
