Since my research and practice was about fostering healthy relational dynamics in the space between us, it made sense to go back and visit some of the value set that reflects both me on a personal and professional level as well as the clients that I have worked with over the past 20 years, while not forgetting the participants from my doctorate research and that reflexive practice that I immersed myself in. It was also crucial to review what were some values that were seen as more relative in the everchanging world that we now live in.

I also looked closely at the leadership style that I embody both in my communication with others, my congruent understanding of how I engage and interact, and the default position that I return to when engaged within complex interactions.

From this I came up with the acrostic word – KIIERA value which is at the core of everything we do at The Space Between Us, decide if innovation is also needed here

What does KIIERA values mean for us at ‘The Space Between Us’?

At the space between us, we focus on creating space to develop authentic relationships and new opportunities that nurtures integrity, responsibility and kindness at its core while being expansive to innovatively apply this relational approach to the individual, couple or system dependent on what is required. Whether this is with 1:1 therapeutic relationships; or through the clinical supervisory support to professionals; or engaging in relational ethical research; or exploring the employee-employer relationship via a neuroinclusive wraparound assessment, or the educative and relational coaching elements that fosters a neuroinclusive environment.
